Pam Ayres presents £27,500 to support the Hatherop Big Build

Hatherop Primary School was delighted to welcome poet and broadcaster Pam Ayres this week, when she visited the school to present a cheque for more than £27,500 raised in support of the Big Build campaign.

The funds were raised through Pam’s performance at the Wyvern Theatre, alongside a hugely successful raffle and auction supported by many local businesses and members of the community.

Pupils and staff gathered to welcome Pam and mark the occasion, which represents a significant boost for the Big Build's ambitious effort to improve and expand facilities at the school for both pupils and the wider community.

Pam Ayres said:“The £27,500 raised was not only from ticket sales for my show, but from the most heart-warming of donations and contributions from so many local businesses and individuals for the raffle and auction. Huge thanks are due to all the wonderful parents, teachers, governors and friends whose enthusiasm and goodwill made this such a real community effort.”

The school is enormously grateful to Pam and to everyone who helped organise, support and contribute to the event. The result reflects the remarkable goodwill of the local community and the shared commitment to the future of Hatherop Primary School.
